Guitars Yesterday, Today & Forever!
First known Guitars:
The origin of guitars may have dated back to 1900-1800 B.C. in Babylonia. Archaeologists found a clay plaque showing nude figures holding musical instruments, some of which resembled the guitar.
Throughout time guitars had so many shapes and sometimes different sounds until a standard had been accepted by most. Today we have basically 2 main types of guitars:
– Bass guitars
– Solo guitars – generically named so
Considering classical guitar, which has generally 19 frets, and supposing it’s tuned in standard tuning, the range goes from E2 to B5 in concert pitch, but written one octave higher (E3-B6).
After all this time of existance the guitar its a fine instrument that managed to create, develop, make or even destroy many lifes and carriers.
The guitar is a plucked string instrument, usually played with fingers, a pick or if you get crazy, God know what else you can use to play your guitar. The guitar consists of a body with a rigid neck to which the strings, generally six in number but sometimes more, are attached.
Guitars are traditionally constructed of various woods and strung with animal gut or, more recently, with either nylon or steel strings. Some modern guitars are made of polycarbonate materials. Guitars are made and repaired by luthiers. There are two primary families of guitars: acoustic and electric.
Why do we bother to tell you that?
